This domain – salmotrutta.co.uk – replaces salmotrutta.corbyloch.co.uk and will contain similar content of wildlife and happenings in, on and around Corby Loch which is situated in the low hills a few miles north of Aberdeen, Scotland. The original site – corbyloch.co.uk (which started in 2008)- will close on 2nd February 2024.

The sky to the south of the Loch is filled …

… with geese. For the last month Pinkfeet Geese in their thousands have arrived from the north on their annual autumn migration.
Now that the Barley has been harvested they feed in the stubble fields around the Loch.
As the Loch has been mainly frozen over for the last few weeks they have had to go further afield to drink after feeding.
